I'm somewhat of a dichotomy, preferring an easy going and laid back lifestyle, while traveling and experiencing as much as possible at the same time. Somewhat of a closet intellectual, seeking whatever's out there but preferring to share it with someone at the same time. I believe that "less is more", in that less drama, less involvement in other's business and less responsibilty allows more of a quality life that can be spent with a significant other - you aren't always trying to work through stressful issues and are spending time with each other instead. I spent 18 years in law enforcement (former game warden and state medicolegal investigator) and saw enough of what I don't want in my life.

Outdoor interests are a must - and the interests are a must. My partner should have varied interests that she likes sharing, and the capability to act independently when we need separate and private time or with friends. I enjoy getting away from the crowds (with my partner) to experience and share what peace and quiet those special places have to offer; and flyfishing, camping, hiking and hunting allow that. I am a very ethical outdoorsman, and show a lot of respect for the outdoors and consideration for the next person that might come along to experience the same thing.

I can't get enough of our own rocky mountains here in the states, and look forward to as many trips out west as possible every year - and look forward to settling down in the rockies eventually. I enjoy stopping to gem hunt, take pictures of petroglyphs, or just finding that place that serves a huge chicken fried steak while I watch hummingbirds through the restaurant windows. I'd enjoy someone who thinks they can keep up, never tires of seeing the beauty of the outdoors and would enjoy sharing similar experiences.
